What you are allowed to convert
Use Convert Online for files and videos you have the right to convert. That includes your own photos, documents you wrote, and media you were given permission to change. It does not include other people's private scans, paywalled books, DRM-locked ebooks, or YouTube videos you do not own and were not allowed to download. Copyright still applies after a file changes format. A new extension is not a new license.
YouTube tools add a second rule. Use them only for content you own or have permission to save, and follow YouTube's terms. Private and live videos are not a challenge to be solved. If a fetch fails, the answer is not to route around the block.
What the tools promise
The tools are free and they are provided as they are. There is no warranty that a download will match a desktop export, pass a portal's checker, or meet a size cap you did not read. Each tool page states the real limit. A text extract is not a designed page. An enlarged photo is not a sharper original. A re-encoded video is not a lossless remux. PDF/A metadata is not a certified archival file. A signature drawn on a PDF here is an image stamp, not a cryptographic signature.
Do not upload malware, do not use the site to break into anything, and do not send illegal content through the contact form. We may refuse a request that asks us to do those things. We may also update these terms. The date on the page is the version you are reading.
The site can change or remove a tool that the browser cannot honestly perform. Existing addresses stay in place so old links do not break. A page that cannot convert will say so and point at a page that can, or at the desktop app that can. You are responsible for checking the download before you submit it to a school, a court, a client, or a government form.
